Basic Information
__My name is Michelle Gonzalez. I am currently a senior at Ronald Reagan
High school and I am taking art. Most of my work is of paintings, but I
have done some photography. I was born in California and came to
Wisconsin a couple months later. I am currently 17, and have changed a
lot since my freshman year. I am a little crazy and slow at times but I
am fun to be around and easy to talk too. I am still shy but not as shy
when I was little. In a way I am very religious but not super close. I
have basic beliefs and my main belief is that life may be extremely hard
but in the end we will earn a reward for the hard work. I have had this
belief ever since I could actually think. This belief has helped me
with school and art. I am also a huge sci-fi and fantasy book worm. Two
main series I like the most are the Maximum ride series and the House
of Night series. I like many other books but these two are my ultimate
favorites. Another genre I like to read is manga/anime books. I enjoy
the stories and the artwork in them.
Now about my actual artwork and drawings, photography wise I like pictures with a sad, depressed, or lonely feeling. I like them because they remind me a little of my past. My childhood mostly consisted of being bullied and being considered an outcast. Other add-ins to this are that I was called a nerd a lot and considered the nerd of the class every year. Another thing was that I was looked down upon because of my ethnic background. My past was rough and difficult but I keep moving on. Other types of photography I like involve landscapes and scenery. I mostly like the vast feeling of how broad and wide the areas in the photos appear and feel like. When it comes down to my own personal photos, I enjoy taking pictures of landscapes, photos with emotion or pictures of my cat. My cats name is Chata, which means nose less. Her name is quite ironic for a noisy cat. She means a great deal to me and that is why I enjoy taking pictures of her.
Most of sketches and drawings involve manga characters. The only difference with my work is that I do not mimic from my books. Instead I try to draw my own characters in their own little scenes. I do get most of my inspiration from the books I have and from other sites and art books I find. Whenever I create a new little character, I basically create a short story for them and make scene from the story of them. I used my passion for anime/manga on my collage. I have a book by a very talented artist who put of her work in it and I took pictures of them and re-sized them for my background. I then took a picture of myself and placed it on top of my background of manga/anime pictures.
My opinion about art is that art is whatever you want it to be. Art is not something you can really think logically about, you basically feel what you wish to create. The media for art ranges from clay to sketching with charcoal. Our imaginations go on and on, and we just paint, sketch, sculpt what we imagine. More than half of the time whatever we create the world loves it. Art is like music, the only difference between us is music is sound based, art is visual based.
